Action, Rating: E - (Everyone), up to 2 players, published by: Capcom"Capcom resurrects the classic zombie-slaying adventure Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts for the Game Boy Advance. The Original Survival Horror Game Originally released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, this side-scrolling action title follows the fearless knight Arthur on his quest to save the beloved Princess Prin Prin. Players must jump, shoot and slash their way through eight merciless levels of old-school platforming for the privilege of facing the evil lord Sardius. Anyone who's played a Ghouls 'N Ghosts title before should be instantly at home with the control setup. Arthur begins his adventure with a set of basic armor and his trusty jousting spear. His main task is to dispatch the myriad of zombies, wolves and brigands lurking along the way. Each level also features its own unique end boss to defeat. Along your journey, you can find different types of weapons, each with its own fire and strength attributes. Armor upgrades allow Arthur to perform screen-clearing spell attacks. Super Ghouls N Ghosts is above all else a platformer. You assume the role of Arthur, a king whos unfortunately been usurped by a band of demons, who have stolen his bride as well for good measure. Upon embarking to reclaim his love and his land, Arthur finds that the world has been twisted into some nightmarish dreamscape that often changes on the fly. The very ground you walk on in the first level is constantly rising, dropping, or being washed away by waves. Other environmental hazards in the later levels include avalanches and even a stage that locks Arthur in a cage as the entire level rotates around him. Its all very creative, and its quite beautiful in many places. Unfortunately, the game tends to slow down quite frequently, especially when multiple sprites gather onscreen or when some of the environmental craziness takes effect. Interestingly enough, the arcade levels included in the arranged mode slow down just as much--even more so in some spots. There really is no excuse for the amount of slowdown youll encounter in the game.At any moment, there will be a multitude of enemies spawning all around you, and dispatching them using your various thrown weapons is easy enough in theory. Arthur has a number of them in his arsenal, though he can carry only one at a time. Weapons are picked up as you progress by cracking open treasure chests or obtaining them from fallen enemies. Arthurs only defense is his armor, which can be upgraded by finding more advanced suits, which in turn improves the characteristics of your weapon. The highest level of armor also grants you a super attack that can be charged up and unleashed. These attacks differ according to the weapon--for example, the daggers super move is a fiery dragon that circles the screen dealing out damage, while the super move for the crossbow merely reveals any hidden treasure chests nearby.

OH MY GOD THIS IS GROUNDBREAKINGLY FUN |
Well i hate the game. It has put my life into suspended animation for a month or so. I now only have 1 true friend (you know the sort of friend who you can trust) my GBA. I get sucked into it for hours and hours at a time. I got 20 batteries with my GBA and they are all gone. All of them. It IS frustrating but fun very fun. And for the first time in about a month I actually logged on to the internet using MSN messenger and I remembered the friends i have so I do have friends. But recently they have merely been toys in my life. This game is so addictive i am now going to stop this review to go and play on it. Goodbye. Oh and BUY BUY BUY THIS GAME. GO ON.

You wont be able to put it down... |
|
...unless you are 10 years old like I assume the author of "Too frustrating for words" must be! When I bought the GBA, I had no idea which game to get so made my decision based on the screen shots on the back of the boxes! This unfortunately led me to Army Men Advance which is OK but you can complete it easily in one day so I guess its for kids. I should have got Kuru Kuru Kurunin (which I bought yesterday). It is both addictive and extremely skillfull - even when you complete a level in the challenge mode I found myself compelled to keep doing it until I had put up a good time! The adventure mode is (loosely) based on a story and the courses build up the difficulty as they go on. Yes it is hard but if you want easy - get Army Men Advance.

Bizarre ducks come up trumps |
|
At first, I thought "hmmm.... looks like some dodgy Japanese thing, Ill try it, but Im not expecting anything. But, like they did with Tetris, Nintendo have delivered a surprisingly addictive little puzzle/action game. Youll be tearing your hair out as you struggle not to hit the walls, and you fail over and over again. Yet you keep going. The satisfaction upon completing a particularly tricky section is reward enough for your hard work.... .....until you get to the next. This game is likely to have you swearing at the screen as you crash yet again, but, all in all, a superbly original and brilliantly fun title, a must buy. It also has bizarre ducks....
